Experience some of the best smallmouth bass fishing in the United States. You will feel like a kid again when you hook one of Maine's best fighting fish on a fly rod. The fish range from 1 to 5 pounds but feel twice that when fighting against the mighty Penobscot River. Come explore the Penobscot River on my 17-foot boat with a 60 hp jet motor. The day will start only 20 minutes from Bangor. All trips are eight hours. All gear is provided but you are welcome to use your own. Recommended fly rods are 7 weight and 6 weight rods with WF floating line. We start our day whenever you decide you want to get started. We will be fishing all different kinds of water. We will get into some back channels, small rapids, flat water or just fish the main body of the rivers. Usually we are fishing under the watchful eyes of bald eagles. I have had days when I have seen as many as ten eagles. The best day last year was 75 fish boated but the average is around 20 to 30. You should always be ready for the weather to change. We can start the day out with it sunny and no wind and return to the boat launch in a pouring rain and white caps, so always bring the proper gear.
