Furled leaders in saltwater?

3 posts in this topic

So I know a lot of you here use furled leaders and most that do make your own. Do any of you use a furled leader in saltwater for striper fishing? I have used both thread furled leaders and monofilament bluesky brand furled leaders in freshwater with rods from 3 weight to 8 weight for everything from tiny trout to big smallmouth and decent sized landlocked salmon. I like the way they cast and their ability to turn over longer tippets and heavier or more bulky flies, but never tried one for striper fishing even though I have used them on my 8 weight striper rod in fresh water with good results. Thoughts? Comments? Any good reason not to try it? Looking forward to seeing what you all have to say. Thanks!

If you like them try them as long as the poundage is at where you are comfortable with. I have never tried one so couldn't tell you if they are good or bad
