Great Miramichi Spring Fishing Opener continues...

Another very consistent week of Atlantic Salmon fishing on the Miramichi. Great weather and great fishing throughout the river system. With the lower water levels, the salmon are not holding as close to shore this early in the season as in most years, making it more challenging for anglers fishing from shore. Those who are fishing from boats in deeper water locations are having the best results. Almost all of our anglers who have been casting from these locations have been limiting out daily. By all accounts it has been a terrific start to the season so far but the weather forecast suggests we might experience some cooler temperatures with a rise in water if we get the rain that is predicted. Although we really do need it we are hoping for not too much rain until after the Spring season is over. Best flies so far have been the Christmas Tree and Renous River Special.
