Kyner is a guy on the Drake. His trip reports usually include a picture of something dead. So other guys started taking pictures of dead stuff they came across while fishing. In their reports they called the dead stuff "dead **** for kyner". Now lots of people are taking pictures of dead stuff. Including me. [:I]

kyner is a good friend, he is a great guy

DSFK was officially born on a fishing trip amongst some friends of mine.....it grew to be included in most of our reports, then spilled over to the drake, where it really took off

it is now randomly popping up and fishing reports here and there, which is pretty wild

If there's an "art spin" here I can assure that it's been done.Tastefully and respectfuly as well distastefully and disrespectfuly. The "science" has too been well documented.I suspect that there's a deeper meaning here behind the DSFK,that goes beyond just the entertainment and the #hits and giggles.

It's a fact of life, but what's the appeal that makes this "DSFK" now such a buzz. Not to be the buzzkill, but poking dead animals with sticks is something of a fascination, that most go through in there earlier stages,a lesson. The nervous giggle maybe, but there's something personal and intimate that happens when one looks upon a deceased animal. This "DSFK" stuff does'nt capture it.If it's strictly for kicks and cheap entertainment, then I might suggest that some folks get some respect, and grow up a bit.

So,what's the creme de la creme?

There is a photo on this forum of a bumper sticker with a fish skelton and DSFK. It's in the Fishing Reports and the topic is "Skunked" I had no idea what it was about.

yes, it is far more tasteful to poke people with sticks on the internet

maybe someone could create a website just for that purpose!

Tim,

Of course it's only natural to respond in such a way,as you have.I attacked your sensibilties(i did it as softly as i could btw).In return you've poked back,so,well, one can only conclude from this, that you are very much alive. This is very good. Now geesh, imagine if one of us was banned, and had no other venue for a response.

You'd suggest that poking certain folks on the internet,as very similar to poking the dead animal over there on the shore. That's interesting.Possums you suppose?I'll tell you what, when that ole'possum starts kicking your dog, then we'll talk about the taste aspects.

You're entitled and a Mainer,oh my.

About Kevin McKay and Maine Fly Fish
My name is Kevin McKay and I became a Master Maine Guide in 2003. But before that I started www.maineflyfish.com, one of the largest fly fishing web sites on the east coast. It is dedicated to helping everyone who is new and experienced, to bring out their best when it comes to fly fishing. So it was only natural I became a guide and I haven't looked back.
