Weird they would want someone spey fishing in the film that doesn't spey fish. Kinda like doing a "how to row a driftboat" video with someone who doesn't have any experience behind the oars.

This sounds like that commercial: " I can do that." hangs up phone and says: "How do I do that?"

I've been at it for a couple of years and am still full of bloopers! Should be interesting Kevin!

I want to learn Spey casting too. I know Eldredge is having lessons this fall. I will be there.

Talk to Jim and see if he can get you in touch with Topher Browne. A day spent with him will get you well on your way. Failing that, Jim can lay it out there pretty well himself. I'm sure he could offer some good pointers.

OR

You could just ask the editor to only use tight, slow-motion shots and a lot of vignetting/fades of your casting. :D

You can definitely be proficient in a day. Perhaps not aesthetically beautiful, but at least close enough to trick a fish.

Wished i had known Kevin you were learning to Spey Cast as Drew Moy from East Coast Spey was here at Lodge all the Week giving lessons only left the same day you guys arrived .Would of worked it out for a lesson for you .If you cant learn from Andrew you will never learn as he is one of the Best we get here and we now have over 140 double handed rod fishermen a year. But you must of picked it up quite good anyway as Guide Ken thought you were doing good at it .But as always Ken thinks fishermen will catch more fish on the Miramichi with a single handed then a double most days anyway .
