That's it, I'm quitting my job and applying. Been working too much anyway. I'll have to check with the wife, but I know she wants me to be happy, so I'm sure she will support my decision ;)

Seriously though, great opportunity for someone to try that lifestyle out for a while. If I was young and uncommitted I'd be applying for sure.

I wonder if they'd hire a retired old fart; might be an interesting way to spend the summer.

Did that job back in 2000. It's a great place for a fly fisherman to spend the season. Definitely a plus to be young and in shape because it is a lot of work.

Ohhh....if I were 17 and not married again - I wouldnt even bother calling I would already be driving in that direction. Would not take "no" for an answer.

Too old to rock and roll, too young to die. Oh to be either retired (1 more year) or 20 something and uncommitted. Sounds like a great opportunity for some young buck. ;) :P

Had a conversation with my wife about this last night....she didn't go for it. I really thought I hit all my points in the discussion.

Told her I would be happier - she wants me to be happy, right?

Money does not make the man - does it?

She will miss me while I'm gone - you will miss me, right?

I would hopefully lose some weight doing all that work and could get an nice tan - you do like tan buff guys, right?

Still confused as to how she said no. I think I might give it another go tonight. Wish me luck!

I think you should pack all your stuff, meet her coming in the door as you're going out, act like she agreed to it all but somehow must have forgot, give her a big kiss and tell her you'll see her in October! And if need be, try to sell her on the "absence makes the heart grow fonder" crap... I'm assuming, since you're married like me, that you've learned how to cry on command, right?
