No worries Kevin I have started looking for volunteers on the Facebook side of MFF to ensure your rod is thoroughly tested while you focus on guiding. I am close enough to you and you can drop it off with enough cash for reel and line (make sure to leave enough, I know you want the best) I will pass it down through the list of volunteers so everyone gets a chance to evaluate this new rod. By time you are finished the season you will have a report on your rod. I bet we could have it used from Ft. Kent to someplace in Mass by late October. Oh, and box of the secret guide flies would help.

Try the switch line from Rio. I'm using one on my 11' 9" #4 and like it.

You're going to have some fun with that one! She'll be a blast on just about anything in freshwater here. You'll have to give us a report soon.

Jim, is that 11'9" #4 the Decho? I've been using a 6wt airflo 40+ and it works well but I'm always curious to hear about other lines.

Yes it is Joe. I've found that line to be a good all around line. I've used it for dries, swinging streamers, and indicator fishing. I've also used the heaviest 7 1/2' Versileader on it and it worked well.

Kevin, did you go with the 4/5 or the 5/6? How much backing did you get on the 5+ with that line, and how did it balance on the rod.

I'm considering an L2H 11' #5 with a Rio Switch Line, but still deciding between a 5+ MA or a 7+ LA from Hatch.

I had the Tom at Eldredge bros put the backing on,not sure what he ended up doing,my 5 plus is a large arbor, wish it was a mid but had no time to get another spool. It is the 5/6 Rio line

I am taking it steeled fishing this year, i think 5 plus balances it better than a 7
