Better than a fly

Slow motion really gives you an awesome look at this fish catcha !

Every year about this time I start trolling the web, looking at the fishing reports for stripers. I like to track their progress up the coast. The reports down south are starting to trickle in. I usually start sniffing around my favorite spots around May 15.

Fly rattles

This is probably more of a salt question, but how many of you have tied flies with rattles and do you think it makes a difference ?

If your in a fast moving river, you see a large fish in the 4 to 5 lb range, you know from experience that the Gin clear water makes for very spooky fish. You have run all your most productive patterns with 5x tippet and do not even get a look, you know these patterns work and the only way you have a chance at hooking this fish is by putting on 6x or more likely 7x....the 5x you have been using is flouro. The smaller tippet will most certainly snap during the battle in fast water.....what would you do?

We might have to start wading with guns! there was a confimed Great White shark attack on the cape.
If you see seals acting weird in your area....run like hell!
