For those of us living in the suburbia that is becoming Cumberland County, access to productive ponds and streams appears to be quite limited. Does anyone out there have a suggestion for spots within an hour or so of Portland for some enjoyable spots for brookies and landlocked? I typically turn to saltwater this time of year, but always have a desire to throw the kayak or float tube into a pond and drift around catching trout without having to drive to the Moosehead region (much as I love it up there!). Crystal Lake? Burnt Meadow Pond? Thanks in advance for any suggestions!
