I’m sorry to hear about your crashes on the rocks. This getting old thing sucks at times, especially when you can’t do your favorite pastimes like you/we once did. Hope you get feeling better soon. Ya gotta get back out there cuz there’s fish to be caught!

    Had a rough month

I’m not sure I can add much to what has already been said about losing a four legged friend. It’s never been easy when I’ve had to do it and it seems to be getting harder, but it’s life and life goes on. I had a German short haired pointer that was an amazing dog and companion. She’s been gone for years but I still think of her often. She’s not here but she’s never gone. I’m truly sorry for your loss. Time and diversion (like fishing)helps. The best of luck with your surgery.

    Crayfish Pattern

I was just thinking, this fly might be a good candidate to be tied Clouser style.

    Nice fish

Just curious, how much would that fish weigh (approx)

    Crayfish Pattern

Yes. My cousin had a friend who tied flies. For whatever reason he gave my cousin a large box full of flies. And again, for whatever reason my cousin gave them to me. That all happened more than 40 years ago.

“The Weather Is Here-Wish You Were Beautiful”

Over the years when talking about fishing trips etc. my father occasionally tell of a trip he went on with his brother and father. The trip was to fish the first Connecticut Lake. For whatever reason they didn’t/couldn’t fish it. They ended up fishing Round pond. They caught some rainbows. That trip was over 70 years ago. While I was in the area we drove up to the pond. I didn’t fish it but may give it a try in the future. My friends took a picture of me with the pond in the background. I sent the photo to my father. He said it looked like he remembers it except for the camp in the background. I can’t image what that area was like that long ago. I’m guessing the fishing was pretty darn good with a lot fewer people.

Two of my friends and I were at Ramblewood camp ground the last week of June. I had never fished up that far up on the Connecticut before. Lots-O-people on the trophy section. One of my friends landed a nice 15” salmon. We did a bit of exploring and we got a few brookies. I guess we will go back up but there is a place (or two) in Maine I prefer. Most of the people I saw catching fish were bouncing nymphs off the bottom using strike indicators. I need to try/learn that technique.

    40 on the 4th

Aaaaha! I knew it!! Thanks for posting an occasional picture, cuz it does give me hope. It also makes me a little crazy knowing I gotta wait until next year. But hey, a boy has to have a dream and time to tie some saltwater flies.

I was wondering about blues. Last year there was a fair amount of talk about them being around. This year it has been radio silence. So I was wondering if they were around. Sounds like maybe.
