Restoration success

Recommended Posts

Last fall I spent $75 on a 12ft aluminum boat off Craigslist.

It was missing a rivet in the back bottom corner, and had several leaky rivets. The body is beaten up with some dents and a horrid coat of paint.

I spent the winter sanding it, building a transom, and sealing the leaking rivets.

I headed an hour and a half south once I heard of an open stillwater favorite.

Spent a good two hours not catching much. The girl claims she had a bite but it's her second time flyfishing so I took that with a grain of salt

So far no leaks. A short while later caught this beautiful brown below.

No more fish, girl did hook and lose one but a total 6 hours in the 38 degree water on this restored boat showed no leaks! She was more stable than I would have thought!

Time to get out there folks!!

Beautiful!!!  Still alittle too cold for me.  These old bones can't handle the cold like they used to.

Beautiful brown brosa.....  The temps are looking really nice so far... of course water temps are a bit more gradual, but at lease the air's pretty comfortable this year...
