Been thinkin'...................

Recommended Posts

........ considering the huge die off in the Chesapeake last winter and the annual slaughter in the 'breeding rivers', we may have hit a critical depletion point.

1) Fish are two weeks behind and very little showing at the Cape.

2) Bait is everywhere and the water is past the 50 degree mark.

3) Nobody is catching stripers in Maine yet.

Do the math and it appears that we are in a downward spiral. Could be we don't get a run of stripers this year. The heating of the Gulf of Maine by the altering of the Gulfstream will also draw bait and transient stripers offshore and towards the Gulf of St. Lawrence.

The signs are bad mon amies !

Or it could be they'll get here when they're damn ready !!!

I think the Gulf of St Larwence fish are a different group than the east coast ones.

I think they are just running behind due to the extended winter. They will be here soon
