Sheddah's are out.

Recommended Posts

Sheddah's (new soft shelled lobsters) are coming out of the mud. The bigger stripers know this and head for mud bottom to feast on the emerging sheddah's.

Difficult to find from shore, boat anglers will have the advantage.

This is a huge event for migrating striped bass. Millions of easy to chew lobsters will draw the stripers like a magnet. Casco bay will be the best bet as it has miles of mud bottom fairly well protected from high seas.

Get out your boats, yaks or canoes and give it a try. Large flies with lots of orange will work fine.
