Last try for stripers

Recommended Posts

Martha and I gave the stripers one last try by boat today, but as expected, no luck. Casco Bay water temp was 49 F. Time to put away all the gear and dream about what we hope will be a good year in 2019.

We look forward to the posts although they are reduced in the off-season.

I know, Mal, it was surprising that after working together 40 years ago, then losing track of each other while we were 250 miles apart in Maine, that you read one of my posts and took a shot at asking "Rick, is that you?" So we got re-united again and enjoyed it.

We appreciate the fun times and help you gave Martha and I as we became striper "newbies" (and striper addicts).

Also, we met a lot of you wonderful people on the sand flats, and it was great to talk and get to know each other. I was favorably impressed by folks' willingness to share helpful fishing tips. I had never experienced this.

We explored lots of sandy shores as well as seaweed-covered ledges throughout the season, so we will continue learning where to fish. It's always fun to learn!
